Core Concept

This feature provides a list of suitable individuals based on research topics and career paths, rather than searching by specific names. This functionality allows you to easily explore potential collaborators from university labs or researchers who could be recruitment targets for your company.

How to use filter

Similar to the Simple Filter in Research Intelligence, this filter operates by finding researchers who meet all the conditions below:

Note: This feature is currently scheduled for a major interface update.

Research Field Enter the research field where you want to find experts. The h-index (Filtered Set) is calculated based only on papers published in the entered fields to identify experts. Like the Simple Filter in Research Intelligence, if multiple fields are added, the analysis is performed on all papers that satisfy at least one field.

Is Active Researcher Filters only researchers who have published papers within the last 3 years.

Affiliation Filters the researcher list based on their most recent affiliated institution.

Country Filters the researcher list based on the country of their most recent affiliated institution.

h-index/Publication Count/Citation Count Filters the researcher list based on h-index, publication count, or citation count calculated from all of the researcher's papers. This can be used to find researchers at specific career stages.

Personal Impact Factor A metric calculated by considering all papers written by the researcher as if they were published in a single journal, using the same method used to calculate a journal's impact factor. This allows you to assess the average quality of the researcher's papers.

First Published Year Filters researchers based on the year they first published a paper. This helps easily identify relatively young or highly experienced researchers. (e.g., setting this year to after 2010 will typically show researchers in their 30s-40s)

Last Published Year Filters researchers based on the year they last published a paper. This allows for searches considering recent research activity.

Author Name Allows you to find specific researchers by name.

Search Result

On the search results screen, you can easily view researchers' main fields of study and their expertise in those areas.

Example. Hydrogen research experts

Domain h-index This is similar to the h-index (filtered set) in Research Intelligence. It's an index calculated based only on corresponding papers authored by the researcher and published within the Research Field set by the user. This indicator allows you to easily assess how much expertise the researcher has in a specific field.

Sort Order You can change the sorting order of the researcher list.
